In 1994, UW Medical Center ¬– Montlake became the first hospital in the nation to be named a magnet hospital for nursing by the American Nurses Credentialing Center. We’ve maintained that designation ever since.

The designation was given in recognition of the excellent work environment for nurses at UW Medical Center – Montlake, including an exceptionally high rate of nurse satisfaction and patient outcomes that are better than non-magnet hospitals.
