Mark Newman, M.D., is a board certified psychiatrist at UWMC-Roosevelt and a UW assistant professor of Psychiatry and Behavioral Sciences.
Dr. Newman specializes in psychosomatic medicine. When working with patients, his goal is to understand them holistically, their life history and personalities in addition to their medical and psychiatric conditions.
Dr. Newman earned his M.D. from the University of Florida, Gainesville. His clinical interests include treatment of psychiatric conditions in medically ill populations, psychiatric conditions in patients with cancer, delirium and other neurocognitive disorders, quality and process improvement, medical student and residency education, and medical informatics. His research interests include in the prediction and risk-stratification of delirium; supervision of psychiatric residents.
Outside of work, Dr. Newman enjoys spending time with his family, running, and reading about urban planning and transportation issues.
