Leslie Brooks, P.A.-C. is a physician assistant in the Emergency Department at Harborview Medical Center. She is also an adjunct professor at Pacific University, teaches wilderness medicine, has responded to humanitarian disasters and has spoken at regional and national physician assistant conferences on emergency medicine topics.
Brooks particularly likes caring for underserved communities and immigrant populations. She feels most useful when able to problem-solve social and language barriers that lead to good clinical care and health equity. Brooks earned her P.A.-C. from Pacific University. She is near completion of her fellowship in the Wilderness Medicine Academy, and is a longstanding member of the AAPA, SEMPA and WMS.
She has several articles published in the Wilderness Medicine Magazine, and an article in JAAPA. Brooks' clinical and research interests include geriatric emergency medicine, humanitarian relief work, wilderness medicine and medical education.
Brooks moved to Seattle for the proximity to water and wilderness that Seattle affords. She is an avid hiker, backpacker, mountain biker and commuter cyclist. She looks forward to getting involved in local community building activities through bikeworks.
