The University of Washington School of Medicine ranks No. 1 in the nation for primary care education. 41 graduate and professional programs and specialties at the University of Washington ranked among the top 10 in the nation, according to U.S. News & World Report’s 2023 Best Graduate Schools.
The UW School of Medicine (UWSOM) is recognized as one of the nation's top schools for training physicians, ranking in the top two medical schools for primary care education since 1995. (In 2014 and 2020, the School ranked No. 2). Additionally, UWSOM has ranked in the top two in family medicine for the past 30 years, currently ranked No. 1 in the nation.
The UW School of Medicine also continues to place second in the nation, among all medical schools, for federal research grant funding with $996 million of federal grants in 2020. UW Medicine faculty have received more than $1 billion of total research grant funding for the past nine years.
